EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS
Term (January to June 2025), Full-Time (1.0 EFT) positions 

We are looking for four energetic and compassionate individuals to join our K-12 Student Services team starting in January 2025. The Educational Assistants support students who have a range of academic abilities with individual learning and/or behavioural needs, extended day programming and general student supervision. The successful applicants will have experience working with students who require additional attention, support, and instruction. The ideal applicants will have post-secondary child-specific education and training, experience working in student services, or a combination of both.  Experience collaborating with teachers to implement supports for the development of academic, physical, and behavioural skills is important. Experience with assistive technologies will be considered an asset. The successful candidates will work with students in classroom, small group, and individual settings indoors and outdoors on-campus, and during off-campus excursions. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours, as an 8-hour workday can range from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

St. John’s-Ravenscourt School was founded in 1820 principally to serve the children of the Selkirk settlers. By 1834 there were forty students, evenly split between boys and girls. SJR has inevitably grown and changed over the years since, though its success throughout has been unimpeachable. Today the programs are as strong as our reputation. A strong academic program is paired with an equally strong attention to the values of stewardship, ethical leadership, and excellence in all areas of academic, social and athletic life.
