Sky High Imaginations

The SJR IDEA Lab was a busy place yesterday morning! The Grade 3s used the design process to build a tall and sturdy structure with only the material they were given; paper, straws, popsicle sticks, elastic bands, cardboard boxes, etc. This was part of their Social Studies unit on structures where they learn about the properties of materials and what is needed to make a structure stable.
They started building the structures on the table, and a few groups had to transfer them to the ground as they built them so high!
