Earlier this month, I was one of 38 grade 11 leadership students who headed to Pinawa for three days. Through a weekend filled with fun and self-reflection, we got to know ourselves and our peers on a deeper level. We took time to explore our values and strengths on a level many of us never had before, and used this newfound self-awareness to decide how we each wanted to give back to the SJR community that has given us so much. As well as reflecting on ourselves, we had many group discussions that led us to a deeper understanding of one another. As a group, we went swimming at the Pinawa dam, which was an absolute blast as well as a great bonding experience! The last evening, we found ourselves around a bonfire, celebrating both an amazing weekend and what is sure to be a very good two years for both our personal growth and the community we serve.
