Bringing History to Life

posted: Thursday, October 13, 2016

On Thursday, October 13, 2016, the Grade 10 English classes were treated to a special guest speaker - former SJR faculty member Mr. Frederick Carsted, who came to talk to the students about the First World War. This term, the students are studying the Canadian novella 'Generals Die in Bed', by Charles Yale Harrison - Mr. Carsted's visit helped them to contextualize their studies and to better understand the frame of reference of the book.

As always, Mr. Carsted provided an engaging insight into this period of global history and helped bring to life the events and history of the First World War. Thank you Mr. Carsted for taking the time to visit our students!
