posted: Tuesday, November 2, 2016

Students from Senior School recently took part in the International Public Speaking Championships in Vancouver, BC from October 20 to 24, 2016. They performed very well indeed, making five finals and placing third as a team (Justin, Liam and Sukhcharhat). Liam also qualified for the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championship, came top in Extemporaneous Speaking, and came third in Persuasive Speaking. Sukhcharhat placed third in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Senior School students weren’t the only ones getting their debate on; on October 27, Middle School students took part in the Junior Debate at St. Paul’s High School too. Congratulations to Gennaro and Rohan, who placed third in the tournament’s Novice category, as well to Maddie and Jonah, who came first in the Open category of the tournament!

Middle School students also took part in the McGill High School Debate Tournament on October 20 and 21 at McGill University. Maddie and Mitchell placed second in the team category of the Junior section of the tournament. Maddie also individually placed second in the Junior section of the tournament. Congratulations to all!
