Financial Assistance

St. John’s-Ravenscourt School is proud to offer an extensive needs based financial assistance program. The application process is separate from the admissions process and all students who are offered admission to Grades 6 through 12 at the School are eligible to apply.

For students applying to Grades 6 through 8, financial aid can provide up to 50% of the cost of tuition. Through a financial assistance application, new applicants to Grade 9 - 12 are considered for the Red River Scholars Fund. Families are required to submit an application through Apple Financial, an independent assessment service.

Red River Scholars Fund
Students entering the School in Grades 9 – 12 for the first time may be eligible to receive tuition reduction of up to 75% annually until graduation through the Red River Scholars Fund.

SJR wishes to attract the most well rounded students to the School, regardless of their ability to pay. SJR is looking for students who have demonstrated a commitment to achieving their goals whether they are academic, athletic, artistic or other forms of goals and wish to continue their studies at the university level; students who are looking for a challenge, and are willing to put in the time and effort it takes to reach their goals.

The Red River Scholars Fund is not a scholarship and therefore it is not directly tied to a student’s academic performance. Rather, it is based on the financial needs of the family to assist with paying for tuition.

Financial Aid Guidelines:

  • Students entering the School in Grades 9 – 12 for the first time may be eligible to receive tuition reduction of up to 75% annually until graduation;

  • International students are eligible for financial aid; and

  • Financial aid is reviewed annually and is typically renewable until graduation. The School reserves the right to discontinue the aid if, during the course of the year, the recipient’s effort, achievement or conduct is unsatisfactory. If the family’s financial situation improves significantly from one year to the next, the School reserves the right to adjust the aid amount for future years.

Call the admissions office at 204.477.2400 to learn more about this wonderful opportunity!

How to Apply for Financial Assistance:

The School uses a financial aid consultant, Apple Financial Services, to conduct the initial application process. All information provided throughout the process is kept in the strictest confidence.

  • Go to www.applefinancialservices.ca

  • Complete the on-line application form and gather and upload the required supporting documents according to the posted deadlines.

The application for financial aid should be completed as soon as the application to the School has been submitted. The two applications will be reviewed by separate teams - the admission process or decision is not impacted by the fact that a financial aid review is also underway.

Apple Financial Services staff will analyze the application and a provide a recommendation directly to the School.

The School will make the final decision on the amount of financial aid granted to the family and contact applicants, in writing, regarding the amount of funds awarded.

SJR offers a substantial number of scholarships annually.
All of these awards are made to worthy students on the basis of demonstrated potential and achievements in the School’s four mission pillars: academic achievement, creative expression, active healthy living, and social responsibility.

The School offers scholarships in the following categories:

Entrance Scholarships

  • Entrance Scholarships are available to new students entering Grades 6 – 12.

  • Awards are based on admissions information and interviews; no additional application or process required.

Internal Scholarships

  • Internal Scholarships are awarded to qualifying students already enrolled at SJR (Grades 6 – 12)

  • Students do not generally have to apply for internal scholarships; these awards are granted by the School’s faculty based upon achievement in the School’s four mission pillars. Where a specific application for the scholarship is required, students will be notified of requirements and deadlines through the School’s internal communication systems.

Boarding Scholarships
